Spinal Decompression Therapy

Spinal Rehabilitation Centers provides spinal decompression therapy that helps relieve back and neck pain caused by a bulging or herniated disc in the neck or lower back. We use spinal disc decompression physical therapy to reduce pressure that builds up on the spinal discs and nerves. For many of our patients, this treatment has relieved chronic problems where other methods have failed.

Spinal Decompression Therapy Benefits:

- Completely painless treatment

- Non-surgical, traction-based method

- Documented reduction of herniated discs

- Effective for sciatica, spinal stenosis, post-surgical patients

- Disk pressure reduction through gentle relaxation

- Flexible payment plans

Spinal Manipulation

Spinal manipulation is a therapeutic intervention performed on spinal articulations which are known as synovial joints. These articulations in the spine that are amenable to spinal manipulative therapy include the z-joints, the atlanto-occipital, atlanto-axial, lumbosacral, sacroiliac, costrotransverse, and costovertebral joints.

The effects of spinal manipulation include:

- Improved biomechanical integrity of the affected joints

- Temporary relief of musculoskeletal pain
- Shortened time to recover from acute back pain

- Temporary increase in passive range of motion

- Physiological effects on the nervous system at the segmental level

- Altered sensorimotor integration

Therapeutic Exercises and Activities

Therapeutic exercise is best described as bodily movement prescribed to correct an impairment, improve musculoskeletal function, or maintain a state of well-being. It may vary from highly selected activities restricted to specific muscles or parts of the body, to general and vigorous activities that can return a convalescing patient to the peak of physical condition.

Therapeutic exercise seeks to accomplish the following goals:

- Enable ambulation

- Release contracted muscles, tendons, and fascia
- Mobilize joints
- Improve circulation

- Improve respiratory capacity

- Improve coordination
- Reduce rigidity
- Improve balance
- Promote relaxation
- Improve muscle strength maximal voluntary contractile force
- Improve exercise performance and functional capacity (endurance)

Cold Laser Therapy

Cold Laser Therapy is the application of intense red and near infrared light radiation over compromised areas such injuries, arthritic joints and lower back and neck pain to stimulate healing and relive pain without sensation or side effects. There is substantial clinical evidence published in peer reviewed medical journals that "cold" Low Level laser Therapy (LLLT) can stimulate repair of tissue, reduce inflammation and relieve pain in musculoskeletal disorders.

General Therapeutic Laser Biological Effects:

  • Increased Cell Growth: Laser photons accelerates cellular reproduction and growth.
  • Increased Metabolic Activity: Photons initiate a higher outputs of specific enzymes, greater oxygen and food particle loads for blood cells and thus greater production of the basic food source for cells, Adenosine Tri-Phosphate (ATP).
  • Faster Wound Healing: Cold laser photons stimulates fibroblast development and accelerates collagen synthesis in damaged tissue
  • Anti-Inflammatory Action: Laser photons reduce swelling caused by bruising or inflammation of joints resulting in enhanced joint mobility.
  • Increased Vascular Activity: Laser photons induce temporary vasodilation that increases blood flow to effected areas.
  • Reduced Fibrous Tissue Formation:Laser photons reduce the formation of scar tissue following tissue damage from: cuts, scratches, burns or post surgery.
  • Stimulated Nerve Function: Laser photon exposure speeds the process of nerve cell reconnect ion to bring the numb areas back to life.
  • Pain Reduction: Almost all systems have a mode of operation specifically designed to reduce pain.

Spinal Rehab & Healthcare offers state-of-the-art diagnostic tests, such as digital x-rays, diagnostic spinal and vascular ultrasound, and nerve conduction velocity testing for the most complete and thorough analysis possible to evaluate your condition.
